It's like me finding the source code for Windows XP, and then claiming I wrote a better OS than Windows 10 or Mac.

Why can't they pass the ventilator mask back and forth, like they did back in the day with a joint?

The French guy's results agree with the Australians about chloroquine anyway.

And the Chinese. Hopefully we will get more studies done soon. No doubt many people are being treated with it right now.

The French doctor could be wrong, or just a bullshitter looking for fame.

It's frustrating that no other studies seem to have been published yet.

Chloroquine was definitely known to be a potential antiviral in 2003:

https://www.thelancet.com/journals/laninf/article/PIIS1473-3099(03)00806-5/fulltext

Chloroquine is a 9-aminoquinoline known since 1934. Apart from its well-known antimalarial effects, the drug has interesting biochemical properties that might be applied against some viral infections. Chloroquine exerts direct antiviral effects, inhibiting pH-dependent steps of the replication of several viruses including members of the flaviviruses, retroviruses, and coronaviruses. Its best-studied effects are those against HIV replication, which are being tested in clinical trials. Moreover, chloroquine has immunomodulatory effects, suppressing the production/release of tumour necrosis factor α and interleukin 6, which mediate the inflammatory complications of several viral diseases. We review the available information on the effects of chloroquine on viral infections, raising the question of whether this old drug may experience a revival in the clinical management of viral diseases such as AIDS and severe acute respiratory syndrome, which afflict mankind in the era of globalisation.

Hmmm, if chloroquine plus azithromycin cured Wuhan virus, we would know that by now for sure.

Of course the desperate doctors in Italy would be trying it, and they would have daily results to share. But the situation in Italy seems to keep getting worse, so I'm starting to doubt that chloroquine plus azithromycin could possibly be as effective as the French doctor claims.

Also, he looks like a bit of a nut. Skull pinky ring, for example. This is someone looking for attention.

I don't know because many doctors I know, don't want to try anything. They simply go with what they were trained on and write off anything else.

I've seen someone die in the ICU, where the doctors used no IV drips with antimicrobial or antiviral substances and they just wrote it off as cardiac arrest due to septic shock. And this my city's illustrious Boston Medical Center followed by New England Deaconess/Beth Israel.

If that's their best then their best won't do.

The Establishment needs economic pain inflicted on the world for as long as they can prolong it. They did not orchestrate this global pandemic, to have some French Hipster Shit Ass come along and upend it all with a God Damn Martini drug.

Of course it will take much less than six weeks, they refuse to allow a good crisis go to waste. As for China, they have been flat lining for as long as chloroquine plus azithromycin cure has been known/rumored.

Fuaci is NOT pleased with the global optimism, and if they can beat down the hopeful's optimism for another six weeks, then Fuck Trump!

This whole episode is hype and misinformation, it's no worse than any flu season the world has seen, since or before the the Spanish Flu, which this thing is no where near. Not even close, it's only .00000123% of the issue the Spanish flu was.

I trust a fortune cookie to predict my future more than that sawed off deep state mother fucker Fuaci.

Yes, that seems like evidence that they are doing something MUCH more effective than mere quarantine.

China is:

1. massive
2. ridiculously crowded
3. filthy

So maybe they are simply using that drug combination or another and not publicizing it, to give themselves time while we flounder with procedure.

Very hard to know from what little info we get from the news. So there's the case of China, strangely low rate of disease now, maybe indicating that it works. And the case of Italy, strangely high rate of disease now, indicating that it doesn't work.

And sure, the media is definitely hyping it all to high heaven. That won't prevent Trump's re-election, but will probably ensure it. People don't like to change presidents during a war. And all of this makes it very clear even to selfish and self-deceiving white-hating liberals on the coasts that globalization hurts THEM PERSONALLY and not just the "racists" in flyover country. Wuhan virus is a massive boost for rolling back globalization, much more than anything Trump himself could have possibly done. So the media hype seems stupid if their goal is to get rid of Trump.

My Father was a retired Merchant marine by time I was 7. He had sailed all over the world. He used to say that quinine cured more than malaria, it also cured some other colds and flues. The way my father understood it is, Humans need to get sick and build up their immune systems. As I posted a few days ago, they've known since they started using it for malaria, it was useful in fighting far more microorganisms than just parasites.
If they cured the common cold and seasonal flu, then one day there could be something that humans hadn't seen in many decades. That would be the population killer,(That this thing is no where near).
If Dr. Fauci, was telling the truth, he would tell us, corona virus is just part of natural order, most will get it and not be affected at all. They should treat people at death's door, but not those asymptomatic or with mild congestion but no breathing issues.

These guys want to jab us for life with mercury and god knows what all for the rest of our lives.

I trust Nike Shoes at a Peruvian flemarket to be legit, then I trust anything the WHO, CDC or ex Bush or ex Obiden official being on the genuinely authentic.

This virus is world-wide, and there is no putting the genie back in the bottle. I am assuming we will have a vaccine by September and that better weather will substantially reduce the virus's spread over the summer months in the Northern hemisphere. However, come Fall and Winter this virus will reappear. Normal flu vaccines are about 30% effective. I am assuming that this will be the case for COVID-19, as well. Are we really going to shut down the entire economy every time an outbreak appears?

I'm pretty sure we will have anti viral treatments well before a vaccine. It will become a manageable disease like the flu.

Courtesy of the Taxpayer - get HIV, and end up on Benefits with Medicaid fitting the bill. Then go "Gift" it thanks to California's decriminalization of a knowing spread without consent to a parking ticket fine.
