Pot Legalization

I make these two predictions:

1, Rec pot will be legal in all states by 2025, and will soon be distributed by major corporations in the way ciggies are manufactured and distributed by Phillip Morris, et al, today.
2. By 2040, we will have a "Pot Settlement," where the "evil" corporations that profited from the sale of a known "harmful product" will pay out to the victims . Companies will be accused of using "enhanced THC" to make the product "habit forming," like the ciggie companies were said to have enhanced nicotine. And just like in the 1950s and early 1960s when ciggie fans refused to believe tobacco was harmful in any way and had the testimony of scientists and doctors to back them up, today's pot fans will bang the drum of Mary J as a totally benign product.

Although scientists have long known cannabis lowers sperm counts, new research suggests it also has a genetic impact. A Duke University study published Wednesday found that both rats and humans who consumed THC weekly saw changes in the genes of their sperm cells. The psychoactive chemical in cannabis was found to alter genetic instructions for how organs grow and how the body suppresses tumors. Scientists don’t yet know if that change could make children more vulnerable to cancer. They cautioned that their sample size was small and more research is needed.

I remember articles written in the 70s that spoke of such chromosome damage. I guess that is being revisited.

Now do not get me wrong, I am not against legalization. I do not care what a free individual drinks, smokes, huffs, injects, enemas, or whatever. I just want those users to be responsible for themselves and any collateral damage. No "tobacco" type settlements from a product you chose to use and full responsibility for anything done under the influence, such as driving, fighting, running around nekkid, etc.

I am not referring to rope and suit material products. I believe we will have Rec Pot legalized.

Bizarre that you still don’t care to hold them accountable for all damage they do and no complaints about their free pass to burden the rest of us with all the costs of their drunken nonsense

Not so, I am no fan of alcohol at all. If it were up to me, first DWI would be total loss of driver's license for 5 years. And like I posted, full responsibility for anything done under the influence of any drug.

Saying "pot is OK because hooch is worse" is no better than saying "hooch is OK because meth is worse."

Nope, Rec Pot will be legal in those states as well. Maybe it will be the "shithole Democrat states" that lead the charge for the "Pot Settlement" down the road. Maybe championed by future Speaker of the House Alexandria Ocasio Cortez as well.

I think that Free Speech is more important than some silly, unresearched random dates about Rec pot legalization.

Predictions of the future cannot be researched, one can only go by one's opinion on trends. Trends such as the Republican Governor of Vermont signing the legalization bill. Other Republicans have "evolved" also, such as old speaker Boehner now actively out promoting legalization. Also, from the LA Times:

In October, a Gallup poll found 64% of respondents supported the legalization of recreational use of marijuana in the United States. For the first time, the poll found, a majority of Republicans surveyed — 51% — favored legalization. That number was up from 42% a year before.

And what "research" do you have that Republican states will not legalize, other than deep seated anger and bigotry? Also, you completely ignored the Ozzie article about a possible negative effect of pot.

I'm going to take Patrick's word for it. Sorry. Patrick did censor(?) me once but it was legitimately because I insulted a poster. I'm pretty sure that is Patrick's only no-no. Just look at what ApocalypseFuck posts.
